SACReD INFO 
WRYR-LP was developed as a project of the South Arundel Citizens for Responsible Development (SACReD) and was one of the first Low Power FM radio stations granted a license in the nation.
In January 2000, the FCC adopted rules creating a new LPFM service, allowing small community groups to reach out via ordinary radio signals. SACReD was granted a license for a 100-watt LPFM station in 2002. Ownership of WRYR-LP was transferred to WRYR Community Radio, Inc. in July 2007.
SACReD is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) volunteer citizens organization whose mission is to work toward sustainable and environmentally responsible Chesapeake Bay communities through education, research and action. All donations to the SACReD and the radio station are fully tax deductible.
